What it does
- Heartbeats — lightweight HTTP probes (HEAD/GET/POST) on a schedule, validating response codes and catching the cron job or service that quietly stopped.
- HTTP synthetics — scheduled request sequences with assertions and run history.
- Browser synthetics — multi-step flows driven by real browser automation, with screenshots and HAR artifacts when something fails.
- Alert policies — route any check’s failure to one or more targets; recovery closes the alert automatically.
- Admin dashboard — manage checks, targets and run history from one place.
How it fits
Beats is the detection layer that feeds Vigil. A failed heartbeat or synthetic becomes a Vigil alert; a recovery resolves it. Billing is per-check, so you pay for what you actually monitor.
